Outline of research activity 【 display / non-display

  • My primary research area is second language (L2) pragmataics (interlanguage pragmatics) with special attention paid to the cognitive aspects of L2 use by Japanese learners of English. I am currently investigating the types of L2 input that maximally contribute to learners' developing their pragmatic competence in L2 and the extent to which L2 pragmatic development is affected by learner characteristics (e.g., motivation, aptitude, and learning strategies, etc.).
