My major areas of interest are language education and environmental education. The courses I teach in the Department of Tourism emphasize research and reporting skills, both in written reports and in oral and AV aided presentation. In language education I am particularly interested in how English is taught and used for Hospitality and Tourism business and research. In environmental education I am interested in how educational programs are conducted in parks and recreation areas by public organizations such as the US National ParkService, by private non-profit institutes, and by ecotourism operators.
