2015年、東京都渋谷区は、同性カップルのパートナーシップを認定する制度を開始した。本稿は、その制度を利用した人、利用を検討している人を対象としたインタビューを取りあげ、制度を媒介にした解釈過程で認識された同性カップルの法的保障ニーズを分析する。日本では、渋谷区の制度ができるまで、同性パートナーシップ制度を求める当事者の存在が見えづらく、制度に対するニーズが当事者に広く共有された結果として制度が作られた、という経過を必ずしもたどらなかった。また、先行研究は、当事者が同性カップルの法的保障ニーズを認識しづらいメカニズムがある可能性を指摘していた。本稿は、制度がない状況で認識されなかったニーズが、制度ができた後に認識されやすくなったのではないか、という問題意識のもと、制度の利用をめぐってなされた解釈過程に注目し、そこでどのようなニーズが認識されたのかを分析した。制度ができた後につき合い始めたカップルは、渋谷区の制度を長期的な関係を担保するものと理解していた。「生涯を共にするだろう」という予期は、パートナーとの関係で生じるニーズを認識させるだけでなく、様々な他者との関わりや出来事の可能性を想像させ、自分たちを取りまく環境に対するニーズも意識させていた。制度ができる前から渋谷区で同居してきたカップルは、「区に認めてもらうことによる安心の獲得」という個別的・心理的ニーズの存在を、制度の利用後に認識していた。

本稿は、日本のレズビアンたちによる集合的な活動が発信したテクストを分析し、その主要な言説を跡づけようとするものである。1970年代から1980年代前半までのミニコミ誌が、1960年代に一般に流通した「レズビアンには男役（タチ）と女役（ネコ）がある」という言説へどのように介入したのかを中心に記述する。なお、本稿は、近代日本形成期（1910年代から1960年代まで）の「女性同性愛」の言説史を整理した拙稿（杉浦2015）の続編に位置づけられるものであり、レズビアン解放運動がさらなる盛り上がりを見せる1985年以降の言説分析へと橋渡しされるものである。

近代以降の日本社会は「女同士の親密な関係」「女を愛する女」に対してどのような意味を与えてきたのだろうか。「女性同性愛」言説の変容をたどる研究成果を「性欲」の視点から整理することが本論文の目的である。ここで「性欲」の視点とは、大正期に定着してから現在まで様々な仕方で構築されてきた「性欲」という領域が、女性同性愛に関する言説をどのように枠づけてきたのか、反対に、女性同性愛に関する言説が「性欲」をどのように枠づけてきたのか、という視点のことをいう。したがって、本論文が注目するのは、「性欲」が女同士の親密性をめぐる経験や理解の仕方に関わっていることを示し得ているような研究成果である。この「性欲」の視点を軸にして、「女性同性愛」言説をめぐる歴史研究の現在における到達点と今後の課題を明らかにしたい。

この小論では、クィア・スタディーズ領域の研究活動にまつわるある倫理課題を示し、論ずる。LGBT(Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender)などのセクシュアル・マイノリティを対象に行われる調査研究では、調査者もマイノリティとしてのアイデンティティを有していることが少なくない。「同じような立場の者=ピア」による調査、「調査者と協力者がともに当事者である」という関係性において行われる調査のことを、ここでは「ピア調査」と呼び、ピア調査で起こりやすい問題について具体的に検討していく。なお、本論は、日本クィア学会の会員有志によるワーキング・グループ(世話人 溝口彰子氏)の成果の一部である。

In this paper, I pointed out that people had come to refer to “understanding by others” as a criterion for “gender identity disorder” against a background in which the experiences of people with gender dysphoria had become diverse. I also considered what experience “gender identity disorder” as a concept would bring to the child with gender dysphoria and the parent when it came to imply an “understanding by others.”<br>I analyzed the process of the appearance of the diagnostic criterion of “understanding by others” using qualitative research with young people who were born from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. Then, introducing two cases of those who sought a diagnosis of gender identity disorder, I showed that not only patients but also doctors attached importance to “understanding by the parent” as a criterion. Moreover, I discussed the impact on the experiences of the child and the parent brought about by the concept to request an attempt to adjust their relationship.

This paper elucidates the changes in the meanings associated with the term rezubian (the Japanese term for "lesbian") through an analysis of its discourse in magazines for general readership published in post-war Japan. The category of "rezubian" first appeared in mainstream magazines in the 1960s as a generic category that referred to both "masculinized women" and "women who engage in sexual acts with other women." Masculinized women, in particular, were called "onabe". "At first "onabe" denoted "a tachi rezubian" meaning a lesbian who plays "top," but gradually a distinction came to be made between "rezubian" who are "onabe" and "rezubian" who aren't." The early 1990s saw the differentiation of "onabe" as a category distinct from that of "rezubian" Focusing particularly on this process of differentiation, this paper traces the transitions in the signifying practices pertaining to the category "rezubian". © 2006 by The Haworth Press, Inc. Since Saitama Medical University applied to carry out a sex reassignment surgery (so called "sex change surgery") in 1995, medicalization of "gender identity disorder" is actively encouraged in Japan. There has been a corresponding increase in number of treatises on this mental disorder published by specialists. By analyzing those professional discourses, I will illustrate how a domain of "the sexual" is socially constructed.<br> The social constructionism has argued two important views: First, objects are produced in and through a series of linguistic practices of signification; second, some knowledge is cited/referred when the practices are intelligible. The question of how "the sexual" is constructed will not be limited to the work of showing the particular way of construction of "the sexual." I will also show how and what kind of knowledge is cited in the constructing process.<br> Having learned constructionism from Judith Butler, this paper keeps the interest of describing gaps and fissures that are produced in the very process of the constructing practices. Those gaps and fissures are observed as logical discontinuity, and are taken as the possibility to change the hegemonic meaning of "the sexual."<br> I hold the attention of its changeablity because I am anxious that the construct of "the sexual" by professionals becomes standard and legitimate knowledge. Examining carefully the practices, we will find cited knowledge there operates against not only other "sexual minorities" but also transsexuals themselves.

This paper lists ethical and procedural points that the co-authors believe are crucial for both researchers and research subjects in the realm of queer studies. While the definition of the term "queer(kuia)" in Japanese tends to be broader and more ambiguous than in English because there is no strict equivalent to "queer" in Japanese language, in this paper the authors start with the premise that Japanese-language research projects in the queer realm tend to be interdisciplinary and tend to involve people who identify themselves as sexual minorities, commonly called "LGBT(lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender)." As such, research endeavors in the queer realm have different kinds of difficulties and risks from those in other realms. Though each researcher usually belongs to another, more traditional discipline such as sociology, art history, and literary studies, among others, in addition to queer studies, the existing guidelines and textbooks in such traditional disciplines do not address the risks and problems particular to research in the queer realm. As the first attempt in the Japanese language to "spell out" such queerrelated risks, issues, and also possible ways to alleviate them, this tentative guideline nevertheless does not profess to be comprehensive or universal. Yet the authors believe that it is imperative for Japanese-language "queer" researchers to start to acknowledge specific risks and issues. In order to help the researchers(including graduate and undergraduate students), instructors(including the ones that are not at all aware of LGBT issues), research subjects or collaborators(who give interviews and provide informational materials such as the back issues of self-published zines), this paper is organized in four categories. They are: 1)"what needs to be considered in the field of queer inquiry by both the researchers and research subjects," 2)"what both the instructors and students of queer subject matter need to be careful about in the academic context," 3) "important points about textual analysis of queer material," and 4) "necessary procedures at the time of publishing and presenting the results of queer research topics." This paper discusses the complex dynamics between researchers and research subjects especially in cases in which the researchers themselves are members of sexual minorities. In such cases, the researchers might encourage research subjects of the same minority group to participate in their research without obtaining enough information about the skill, scope and aim of the researcher and the research project. This paper also examines the differences between queer readings and outing the artists and authors of the texts and representations, among many other issues.
