      The present study investigated the validity of the Kinetic School Drawing technique (KSD) for assessment of school adaptation, and examined the way in which the characteristics of that technique project the painter's feelings. Elementary and junior high school students (N=769) completed questionnaires intended to assess their relations with friends and teachers, the mood in the class (safety and relaxation), and their adjustment in school. The Kinetic School Drawing technique was carried out actively throughout the school (N=733). The results suggested the following: (a) When drawing a self-figure, teacher, or friends, students scoring high on the spontaneous relatedness scale (to teachers and friends) tended to draw smiling faces looking forward or else a profile of the face, (b) students scoring high on the relaxation and safety scale tended to draw a larger number of friends, and drew their teacher in profile, more than low scoring students did, (c) the positive aspects of the Kinetic School Drawing technique's contents and its good construction suggest that it is well adapted for use in schools.

      A questionnaire survey of clinical psychologists (N=285) was carried out to investigate their understanding of the causes of the breakdown of classroom discipline, the current situation of interventions, and effective response to the problem. The results indicated that 68% of respondents had observed the phenomenon, and that it was now becoming a major area of concern for clinical psychologists. The main results were as follows.(1) Bullying was seen as a cause of the breakdown of class room discipline in many cases, or mentioned as having occurred following chronic cases.(2) Clinical psychologists who had actually intervened in such cases answered that team teaching and individual interventions, in the form of consultations for teachers and parents had proved effective.(3) In explaining the phenomenon and cases had intervened, many responses mentioned the existence of children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder or Learning Disability. They surmised that children's emotional disturbance and their lack of social skills, and their maladjustment to group action were likely causes of the breakdown of classroom discipline. It was revealed that there was a distortion on understandings about the phenomenon and supposed that the existence of children with emotional and problemsin the class, who seem to be as if they were ADHD.

      The rate of different types of maltreatment of children younger than the age of 16 by parents was investigated among a sample of 119 Japanese nonconsulting adolescents. Emotional neglect, threat, putting to shame, slapping punching with a fist, hitting with an implement, and burning by the father or the mother were reported to have occurred at least several times a year by 21.0%, 26.1%, 14.3%, 40.3% 25.2%, 14.3%, and 0.8% of the participants, respectively. These figures were much higher than previous estimates from medical and social agency reports in Japan. Some associations were found between specific categories of child maltreatment and the lifetime prevalence of different types of DSM-III-R psychopathology. Among male adolescents, Generalized Anxiety Disorder was associated with being put to shame, punched, or hit with an implement by the mother, while single-episode Major Depression was associated only with being slapped by the mother. These figures suggest that childhood maltreatment has effects on psychopathology among adolescents, particularly emotional maltreatment associated with chronic/recurrent Major Depression.       This article presents a conceptual frame work for chronic eating disorders. In recent years, the pathological study of eating disorders mainly emphasized on female developmental identity. Especially, disturbance of body image perception and personality development have been focused on, which related to the ego function and the fear of maturity, although 'fear of being fat' complex is thought of one of the symptoms and body image may not be a unique factor to appearing in the eating disorder. Thus, instead of these concepts, the importance of the familial pathology and family system is beginning to receive attention now. In this study, after reviewed presentation of some theory, Iwill discuss related concepts, family systems and family dynamics. And finally, the point of view from the parent-child (daughter) relationship, Iwill describe about the parental psychopathology model and the internalized parental conflict model.

      研究1
      縦断研究として,小中学校7校において,動的学校画と授業逸脱への同調傾向を測定する尺度,ストレスの様相,教員から見たクラスの気がかりな子について尋ねる質問紙調査を行なった。2911名ものデータ数のため,学校画の詳細は現在コーディング中,解析中である。現在まで得られた知見は以下の通りである。(1)担任教師のクラスで気になる子の特徴の第一位は,「落ち着きが無く多動,集中力不足」で20%,第二位が「友達が少なくクラスに馴染みきれていない」で19.7%,第三位が「時々パニックになり,感情の抑制がきかない(キレる)」で17.2%であった。現在,学校画の描画特徴との関連を解析中である。(2)中学生は,小学生よりも学校生活を振り返ると今現在の生活に不満足感を抱く傾向があることが考えられる。(3)作成した「授業逸脱への同調傾向」尺度の因子分析から,「雰囲気流され同調」「放任無視」「仲間関係重視による同調」の3因子を抽出した。統計的検定の結果,中学生は小学生よりも逸脱行動に同調しやすいことが考えられた。逸脱行動への同調傾向と学校画との関連は解析中である。
      研究2
      小5小6の計35名の小学生を対象に,3年〜4年間に児童が描いた学校画を提示し,身体の省略・区分化や包囲を描いた理由を尋ねる構造化面接調査を行なった。得られた知見は(1)区分化や包囲は,写実的な表現のために描いたという回答が多いものの,一部の児童に「こういう場面では緊張した」というコメントがあり,心理的な要因で区分化や包囲を描いた可能性も考えられた。(2)身体の省略については,「描くのが難しかったから」と答える子どもが多いが,「あれ?!どうしてこれだけ欠けているんだろう!」と驚き,考え込む子どもが複数いた。無意識的な行動化によって,身体省略を行なった可能性もある。既に,若手研究Bで来年度の研究助成を申請しているが,今後は外国人子女クラスの学校画調査を行なう予定である。

      本年度は小学校での学級崩壊現象が起きる諸要因、学校でのストレス対処方略ならびに子どもの学校適応についてのアセスメント法を探索する調査研究を行った。昨年の調査において教員イメージと中学生の攻撃性との関連が示唆されたため(田中,2002)、予備調査として教員と子どもとの関係性と学校画との関連を、小学生203名について検討した。次に学校適応、教室での気分、教員イメージを問う項目で構成された質問紙調査と学校画を、小・中学生1350名に実施。同被調査者のうち82名の小学生に、学校や家庭でストレスが生じた場合、学校でどのようなストレス対処を行うのかを尋ねる個別インタビューを行った。
      その結果得られた知見は以下の通りである。(1)小学校低学年では、描画に描かれた友達の数と教員への心理的近接性とは負の相関が有った。つまり学校画で友達の数を少なく描く子ほど、教員と親密になりたい願望が高いことが推測された。(2)小学校1年生で描かれた自己像と教員像の距離の平均値は133ミリであるのに、2年生では42.5ミリ、と急激に近くなっていた。学校画に描かれた自己像と教員像との距離が、学校や教員に慣れ親しんでいるかの指標になる可能性、小学校1年生から2年生の時期が、教員に対する信頼感の育成に重要であることが推察された。(3)友達とのトラブルが生じた時の対処について、小学校3年生は「解らない」「先生に言う」という回答が多かったが、6年生は「先生に言う」のは減少していた。中学年と高学年では、ストレス対処に教員を関与させる程度が異なる可能性がある。(4)自己像や友達像を学校画で小さく描く子ほど、友達と親密になりたい願望が高いことが推測され、学校で友達をいじめたことがある子ほど、学校画で先生像を大きく描く傾向が見られた。以上から、学級崩壊の支援・対策には、特に小学校1〜3年生における教員への信頼感の育成が重要であると考えられた。
