  • トップアスリートにおける筋・軟骨・骨などの運動器損傷は、時に選手生命にかかわる問題である。また、中高齢者における運動器機能の低下は、生活の質を下げるだけでなく、外傷、疾患のリスクを上昇させる。このような運動器における問題を医学の視点から、これまで基礎的実験を行ってきた。現在、打撲や肉離れなどの筋損傷が生じた時の筋再生に関する研究と、骨粗鬆症・骨代謝に関連する新しい治療薬の探究を行っている。

      近年,成長期の子供の体力の低下が問題視されているが,聖マリアンナ医科大学(以下,本学)医学生の体力についても,同様の可能性が考えられる.今回我々は,過去15年間の本学新入生の体力について,経年的に調査,検討したのでその結果について報告する.対象は1987年から2001年までの新入生計1,468名である.1年生の体育実技の授業の際に,文部省の「スポーツテスト実施要項」に従い,反復横跳び,垂直跳び,立位体前屈,背筋力,握力,踏み台昇降運動の6種目について測定した.これらを集計し,I)15年間の体力の年次推移についてA.男女別,B.スポーツ歴の有無別,C.現役・浪人別に各々検討した.また,II)15年間を前期(1987〜1994年)と後期(1995〜2001年)に分け,A.男女別,B.スポーツ歴の有無別(現役生)についても検討を行った.その結果,年次的には,「背筋力」に男女とも低下傾向がみられる一方,「踏み台昇降運動」では上昇傾向がみられた.前期・後期別では,「反復横跳び」,「垂直とび」,「背筋力」の3種目が後期に男女とも有意に低下していた.一方,「踏み台昇降運動」については,後期に逆に有意に増大していた.スポーツ歴の有無別では,過去にスポーツ歴のある方が,男女とも体力テストの結果は良好であった.将来体力を必要とする本学医学生は,学生時代からスポーツに親しみ,運動を生活習慣にすることが望まれる(著者抄録)
