刑法の基礎理論と並行して、現代型経済犯罪に関する研究を進めている。前者のテーマとしては、全ての不法類型(故意・過失犯、作為・不作為犯、正・共犯など)に共通する可罰性の最外枠である、客観的構成要件の概念があげられる。後者のテーマとしては、インサイダー取引や損失補てん、相場操縦を中心とする証券犯罪や、近年、抜本的な改正が行われた倒産犯罪などがあげられる。
