2次元格子上の可解な統計力学的な模型について研究している。非線形でありながら解くことのできる『可積分系』は、ソリトン方程式から場の量子論にまで現れ、Lie環の表現論などにも寄与しながら発展を続けている。可解格子模型の構成、およびその相関関数の求め方を中心に研究をしている。
