本研究の目的はファシリテーション研究の特徴を学際的な視点から明らかにすることである。本研究では、まず、「ファシリテーションとは何か」について、6つの学問・研究領域の先行文献をレビューする。レビューの対象となった領域は、社会学、国際開発学、平和学、心理学、経営学、英語教育学である。次に、それらの先行文献レビューを比較し、「ファシリテーション研究とはどのような研究か」について考察する。その結果、ファシリテーション研究の特徴として、次の3つのことが示された。第 1に、議論の深度や方向性が、各領域で異なる。第2に、ファシリテーションという事象は、さまざまな側面から分析・考察できる。第3に、各領域におけるファシリテーションの議論においては、共通のルーツや相互の影響が見受けられる。
The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of research on facilitation from the interdisciplinary perspective. With regard to what facilitation is, the study reviews the literature across six academic and research areas: sociology, international development studies, peace studies, psychology, business management, and English
pedagogy. It then compares the literature reviews to see “what kind of research is essentially research on facilitation.” As a result, the following three characteristics of research on facilitation have been identified. First, the depth and direction of the research
differ in each area. Second, the phenomenon of facilitation can be analyzed and considered from various aspects. Third, research on facilitation in each area sometimes exhibits common roots and influences each other.

論文本大学では、2016 年度より英語習熟度の低い学生のために基本的な英語運用能力を高めるためのファンデーションコースが創設されたが、3 年目に入りあらたに文法クラスに日本人には馴染みのないX-Word Grammar Theory が試験的に導入された。本論文はそのコースに在籍する48 名に対し、その実践効果を学習者の振り返りシートと事前・事後テストの結果から分析を行い探索した。結果、担当教員が違う2 クラス両方ともに学習効果が見られ、各々の学習目標に改善が見られる事が分かった。又、質的探索からは学習者達が新しい学習法を前向きに捉え、従来の文法指導とは違う点で迷う過程を経ながらも、最終的に達成感や文法学習に対する意欲を持つ者が多くいる事が分かった。This study investigates the students＇ beliefs and effectiveness about the X-word grammar theory in the grammar class for the foundation course. The number of participants of this study was 48 students in the foundation course which was established in 2016. The researcherconducted pre-and post-test and half of the participants were asked to answer for the rubric chart including the short comment space after every class as a qualitative study besides the quantitative study. The test results showed the significant improvement as an integrated course and most of the students got motivated and felt accomplishment about learning grammar after experiencing the process of struggling being taught by the new grammatical theory.
